The most racy racing boot of all racing boots. The Dainese Axial series has been a revolution since day one, changing the way we think about racing boots. Main feature: the Axial is meant to go in the pants rather than over. As a result, the boots are less bulky and very lightweight, increasing wearing comfort and performance. The Dainese Axial D1 is the successor to the Axial Pro In. Don't be fooled by the new name though; they are basically the same, which is a good thing! Its construction of D-Stone fabric and split cowhide leather is very lightweight and extremely durable. Thanks to the D-stone fabric and leather accordion panel, you get an insane amount of freedom of movement with these boots. The carbon and aramid fiber D-Axial system allows forward rotation and prevents torsion to minimize the chance of getting injured. Replaceable magnesium toe sliders and a magnesium slider on the heel ensure great resistance to abrasion, should you find yourself sliding along the tarmac, rather than riding on it. But the Dainese Axial D1 boots are not just about performance. Their power lies in the ability to combine it with comfort as well. They are very easy to take on and off thanks to the zipper closure at the back and the elasticated inserts. The inner booty has a speed lacing system that can be adjusted of a wide range of sizes for a perfect fit. The double jersey airgap liner promotes breathability and if you get the Axial D1 Air version, the upper is perforated to provide great airflow. Perfect for those sunny days or for having some serious fun at the track!
The fit of boots differs per type, but we can say that each brand has its own (rough) fit. For example, Sidi boots and shoes are quite narrow and Alpinestars is quite wide. Dainese and Forma are exactly in between in terms of fit.
This is a well-known fable, which in our opinion is really completely false. We recommend using the size chart supplied by the manufacturer the find out which size to order. There is Always one exception of course, it is true for Sidi boots that they are quite small. It can sometimes be smart to order them one size larger (especially if you fall in between sizes on the size chart).
With boots, a distinction is made in roughly 3 types; ventilated, not ventilated and not waterproof, and waterproof. Ventilated boots are perfect for the summer. Non-ventilated boots are good to use in midseason and waterproof boots are of course perfect for the rain, whatever the season. Note: there are no typical "winter boots" that are extra warmly lined! You will have to solve this yourself with warm socks.
Most of the boots and shoes on our website are listed in European sizes. Exceptions are, for example, the Alpinestars sneakers / shoes and motocross boots. These are sold in US sizes. Have a good look at the size chart to see how the US and EU sizes relate to each other.
