Originally introduced in 2011 as OEM equipment for the 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale, the Brembo M50 is one step up from the M4 calipers. With the M50 you're getting a pair of cast aluminium monoblock calipers designed for track day riders and high-performance street superbikes. The Brembo engineers have focussed on keeping the weight down to keep the unsprung weight to a minimum. By using highly efficient, smaller pistons and shaving away as much material as possible without compromising rigidity, the M50 calipers are 15% lighter than their M4 counter part. Please note: The Brembo M4 calipers were designed to work best together with a Brembo 17 RCS brake master cylinder. These brake calipers come in one size: 100 mm. As a rule of thumb, 100 mm should fit all European brand bikes with radial calipers where as most Japanese brand bikes need 108 mm calipers. But to make sure, always check the center-to-center measurements of the fixing points on your own bike! You can also use the Brembo Brake Configurator to see which products fit your bike. You might also need a Brembo Caliper Spacer Kit to ensure the caliper lines up correctly. This usually happens if you're running larger diameter disc brakes but some bikes need the spacers in any case. Please refer to this document to see if and which spacer kit you need: Brembo Brake Caliper Spacer Kit chart
These brake calipers come with a pair of sintered Brembo brake pads included! Please note that these Brembo Brake Calipers are meant to be used with 2 separate brake lines, one to each caliper. Please also check if the angle of the fittings of your current brake lines will match these brake calipers. If they are angled too differently, you may need to invest in a new set of brake lines to match.
A monoblock caliper has a solid one piece construction where the pistons are fixed and move towards each other. This provides extra stiffness to the caliper, so that no flex occurs during braking. This gives you maximum braking performance and feeling.
The Brembo calipers we sell come in two different mounting distances: 100mm and 108mm. 100mm calipers will fit most European motorcycles (BMW, Ducati, KTM, Aprilia etc.) and 108mm will fit most Japanese motorcycles (Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki).
Some motorcycles require a set of spacers to be placed between the front fork and the brake caliper this would ensure that the pads are properly seated on the brake disc. In addition, you must pay attention that the angle / location of the banjo bolt in front of the brake line fits well with your brake lines.
The Brembo calipers we sell come with a set of Standard Brembo Sintered pads (tt2910hh)
