The TomTom Rider 550 is a GPS navigation system specifically designed for motorcycle use. With maps of the whole world, borders will disappear and you can keep exploring new routes. Compared to the Rider 450, the 550 offers a couple of new features. The Wi-Fi functionality means you no longer need a computer to install updates. The 550 is capable to work with Siri and Google Now for speach control. The new quad core processor means double the speed and boot time up to 5 times faster. You can easily share your own routes with others via Bluetooth.
To help you with creating your own routes, there are more than 450 specific Bike Points of Interest available and you can download routes straight from the MyDrive app. A very important and unique feature of the TomTom Rider is the possibility to plan routes with a certain challenge level: apart from just calculating the easiest route from A to B, the Rider 550 can also create a route with a lot of corners for your entertainment. Besides the endless options based on creating your own route, the Rider 550 is also very easy to use. Due to a nice piece of technology you can operate the system with both summer and winter gloves. The Rider 550 can be connected to your Bluetooth communication device so you can keep your eyes focused on the road while listening to the instructions in your helmet. These instructions also include dangerous locations on the road, high risk corners and traffic jams. Since the TomTom Rider 550 has a speaker, the system is also ready to use in your car and due to the RAM-mounting system you will always find a suitable mounting point for your motorcycle.
This Premium Pack includes a solid protection case, car mount, 12V connection for the car and an anti-theft solution for your motorcycle.
Attention: Only European maps are pre loaded

The differences are plentyfull, but in our opinion the most important differences are: A TomTom Rider is more user-friendly in terms of operation and feels more like a smartphone. With the Garmin you have more options in terms of route planning and you can also drive off-road via so-called tracks, but it takes some effort using the device.
The navigation systems that we sell come with a mounting for the steering wheel of the brand RAM-Mounts. You can use this with most motorcycles, but if you need a better solution, you can indulge yourself with all possible parts that RAM-Mounts has in the range.
For each navigation system, we state on our website which maps are pre-installed and whether you can download other maps (possibly for a fee) from the manufacturer's website.
You can load GPX route files yourself in both the TomTom and the Garmin navigation systems. You can create these files yourself using the TomTom or Garmin software, or download them from the internet.
