Instead of exaggerated edges or protrusions, the helmet shell focusses on a functional design that increases safety. Arai's top priority is protection: the core idea of developing rounder, smoother and stronger outer shells improves the ‘glancing off’ properties and helps to dissipate energy efficiently.
