faq

How dark is an iridium visor?

Most iridium visors are comparable in color to a light smoke visor, or 50%.

How dark is a dark smoke visor?

Dark smoke visors are generally 80% tinted, which is the maximum allowed. As a result, a dark smoke visor, once mounted on the helmet, will look as good as black from the outside.

What is the added value of a light smoke (50%) visor?

With a light smoke visor you have the advantage during the day that it filters the sunlight slightly so that it shines less brightly in your eyes. At the same time, the visor is not so dark that you can no longer drive it at night (provided that the streets are sufficiently lit).

Do I absolutely need a Pinlock visor or is the anti-fog treatment of my visor sufficient?

It differs per brand; the anti-fog treatment of one brand simply is is better than that of another. You can always use anti fog spray if the coating wears of. A second variable is the climate that you generally ride in. Typically, with our Dutch cold and wet climate you are better off with a Pinlock visor, however if you live in a warmer, dryer climate it might not be necessary at all.
